Richmond Mayo-Smith, 1854-1901, was a professor of political economy at Columbia University, and author of Emigration and Immigration, 1890; Statistics and Sociology, 1895; and Statistics and Economics, 1899. The collection, mainly transcripts, includes general correspondence, letters to his parents and wife, miscellaneous personal documents, newspaper reviews, obituaries and letters of condolence to Mrs. Mayo-Smith.
